TYPES OF PALLET WRAPPING MACHINES
Omni have developed an extensive range of pallet wrapper machines to suit different load types and volumes. The most common type of machine is the rotating turntable type. The mobile pallet wrappers are a robot type machine that circles around the pallet to wrap the load. Rotating arm pallet wrappers are ideal for oversized pallets.
The mobile pallet wrappers are a robot type machine that circles around the pallet to wrap the load. Our fully automated inline systems are customised machines for extremely high-volume operations. These inline machines have the capacity to wrap around 65 pallets every hour!
OUR STRETCH WRAP FILMS
Omni have developed a range of stretch films to suit different pallet wrappers, load, and applications. Two main types of stretch wrap exist. Workers use hand rolls to manually wrap items with a hand wrap dispenser. Automatic pallet wrapper machines dispense machine stretch wrap rolls.
We design our stretch films to work perfectly with Omni pallet wrappers for the best wrapping solution. Selecting the correct type of film to suit your machine is important. We have a range of stretch films to suit different pallet wrappers depending on their features and wrapping requirements. Pre-stretched films are best suited non-power pre-stretch pallet wrappers. Our high-performance machine films have stretch yields of up to 400%. Therefore, these films are ideal for pallet wrappers with power pre-stretched capabilities.

Wrapping pallets with a machine is faster and more efficient than manual wrapping. It typically takes about 2 minutes or less to wrap a pallet using a machine. However, wrapping a pallet by hand can take around 4 minutes or more. In addition to saving time, machine wrapping ensures consistent quality and tension, minimising the risk of damage during transportation.
Most pallet wrapping machines are designed to accommodate regular 1200mm x 1200mm pallet sizes. The standard turntable size of our machines is 1500mm to 1650mm in diameter. The most common mast heights range from 2.2m to 2.5m.
For larger and irregular shaped loads that don’t fit on a turntable, mobile pallet wrappers
are the ideal solution. These machines circle around the pallet to wrap the load with stretch film. Rotating turntable pallet wrapping machines can also be customised to suit larger loads. Pallet wrappers can be made with 3 metre masts for wrapping
extra high pallet loads. Larger turntables and extended ‘necks’ are also available for wrapping wide loads. Our award winning
wrappers feature adjustable settings for wrap tension, wrap pattern, and turntable speed, ensuring different load types are securely wrapped. It's important to check the specifications of the machine to ensure it meets your specific requirements.
Pallet wrapping machines improve load containment due to how they apply stretch wrap . The tension is firmly distributed in order maintain the integrity of your pallet from warehouse to destination. This provides increased stabilisation, reducing the risk of goods shifting or becoming damaged during transport.
Yes, using a machine can be a cost-effective solution for businesses that wrap a high volume of pallets. Using a pallet wrapper will often lead to significant savings over time because they produce lower labour costs and material usage.
- Pallet wrap film efficiency: A power pre-stretch pallet wrapping machine can increase the efficiency of stretch wrap usage by up to 400%, resulting in up to 20% reduction in plastic usage.
- Labour savings: Automating the pallet wrapping process can drastically cut labour costs and boost warehouse efficiency.
- Consistent load containment: Machines provide more consistent and secure wrapping, which can increase load stability and reduce the likelihood of damaged goods.
- Reduced Injury Risk: Manual wrapping pallets by hand can lead to back injuries due to repetitive strain and poor posture. By automating this task, the risk of injury is significantly diminished. WorkSafe Australia recommend using an automated pallet wrapping machine to reduce the risk of injury.
Pallet wrapping machines are typically compatible with various stretch film types, including cast, blown, pre-stretched, ventilated
, and netted wrap. The choice of film depends on the type of goods being wrapped and the desired level of breathability, protection, and containment force. Machine rolls of stretch film must be used on a pallet wrapping machine. As well as being much longer, these rolls have a larger core than hand application rolls.
Black machine pallet wrap is often used for security and privacy reasons so the items on the pallet are not made visible during transit. Colour tinted stretch films can be used for branding and identification, making it easy to distinguish pallet loads during stock take, categorising, or general distribution.
White pallet wrap is ideal for wrapping heat-sensitive products as it does not attract heat like a darker stretch wrapped load. Commonly used for pallet loads of food such as chocolate that could get heat damaged in transit if the correct temperature is not maintained.
When it comes to wrapping pallets, efficiency and cost-effectiveness is critical. One component that plays a significant role in achieving this objective is the 'power pre stretch' unit found in pallet wrapping machines. The power pre stretch function refers to a pallet wrapping system designed to elongate the stretch film before it is wrapped around a pallet. This is accomplished via a series of rollers on the carriage of the machine. The process takes place prior to the film being applied to the pallet load, ensuring the film is stretched consistently and effectively.
The Benefits: Reduced Film Consumption: By stretching the film, it is possible to cover more pallets with less material, reducing plastic usage. Cost Savings: With increased stretch efficiency, the consumption of stretch wrap goes down, leading to significant cost savings. Improved Load Containment: stretching of the film increases its strength and load-holding capacity, resulting in a more secure load. Environmental Impact: Using less stretch wrap has a positive impact on the environment .
The Results: Using a power pre stretch system with high-quality film can achieve stretch yields of up to 400%. This means a roll of stretch film measuring 2000 meters can be extended over 10,000 meters in length after going through the power pre stretch process. Consequently, power pre stretch technology offers significant benefits for businesses aiming to increase their productivity, lower costs and become more sustainable.
Modern pallet wrapping machines are generally user-friendly and do not require extensive training to operate. The Omni machines come with programmable control panels that allow operators to easily select wrapping cycles and adjust settings to suit specific needs. One-touch operation can be set up for simplicity and convenience. Remote control operation of your pallet wrapper allows you can activate the machine from your forklift to further increase efficiency.
Yes, the Omni pallet wrappers come with a standard 2-year warranty. The extended 10-year warranty applies to the Tiro, Cresco and Base pallet wrapping machines only. This warranty option is free when you agree for Omni to be the sole supplier of the pallet stretch wrap used for that machine. For all other pallet wrapping machines, a 2-year warranty applies. Warranty is only valid if your machine has been serviced as required.
- A: Both semi-automatic, fully automatic, and inline pallet wrapping machines offer unique advantages to suit various volumes and load types.
- Semi-automatic machines are ideal for low to medium volume warehouses. They require manual film attachment and cutting post-wrap but can be customised with up to 32 pre-set programs that adapt to different pallet loads, preventing film tear.
- Fully automatic wrappers are optimal for higher volume needs. They automate the entire process including film attachment, cutting, sealing, and eliminating dragging film tails—a common issue in load containment.
- The fully automated inline models cater to high-speed, high-volume production lines. They can wrap up to 65 pallets per hour and are easily integrated into existing conveyor systems. Customisation options for weighing systems and barcode readers demonstrate their suitability for 'hands-off' wrapping solutions.
- Scales can be built into the turntable of pallet wrapping machines. This is an excellent way to increase operational efficiencies and reduce the double handling of pallets.
- The machine wraps and weighs your load at the same time.
- Avoid double handling of pallets.
- Accurately weigh pallets and avoid miscalculating freight costs.
- Check pilferage by weighing pallets at the final step.
Pallet wrappers with a low profile turntable eliminate the need to have 3m long steep inclined ramps, a requirement for standard pallet wrappers. The turntable on the Plana is 18mm high, therefore it only requires a 20cm access ring ramp. This very minimal incline makes pallet truck loading strain free. This turntable has 270° ramp access.

Inline wrapping machines and the Superplus have automatic film attach, cut off and heat seal functionality. The Plana and Base machines have the auto cut off feature as an added option. This feature automatically holds the film at the end of the wrapping cycle. An air device blows the film tail up and heat welds the plastic to the pallet load, preventing the loose tail from getting tangled up in any nearby objects. The process employs a ‘film catcher’ at the end of each wrapping cycle so that the next cycle can begin without having to manually attach the film to the load.
A film roping function provides added stability to your load. At the end of the wrapping cycle, the 500mm width of stretch film is pulled down to form a thin rope. This machine then runs several more rotations around the load and base of the pallet. This firmly locks the load to the pallet, increasing the holding force. The film roping feature is only available on select models.
